AI Assistants (MCP)

AdStage provides an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Add it as a connector in claude.ai, Claude Code or ChatGPT and your AI assistant can read attribution reports, saved reports, deep links, funnels, retention and the event catalog without opening the dashboard.

Before you start

  • You need an AdStage account that is a member of the organization you want to query.
  • Server URL: https://api.adstage.app/mcp (you can copy it from Settings > AI Assistants in the dashboard)

1. Security model

ItemDescription
PermissionsRead-only. Nothing can be created, changed or deleted.
OrganizationYou pick one organization when you connect. Only that organization's data is accessible; other organizations are never visible.
AuthenticationOAuth 2.1 with PKCE. You sign in with your own AdStage account and approve the connection — no API keys are copied anywhere.
DisconnectingDisconnect at any time under Settings > AI Assistants. Access also stops immediately when you are removed from the organization.
DataQuery results are sent to the Anthropic/OpenAI conversation. Make sure this is acceptable under your company policy.

2. Connect from claude.ai

  1. Go to Customize > Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector, enter the server URL https://api.adstage.app/mcp and click Add.
  3. Click Connect on the connector. The AdStage sign-in page opens: sign in, choose the organization to share and click Approve.
  4. In a chat, enable AdStage under + > Connectors and ask, e.g. "Compare last week's ad spend and ROAS by channel" or "Show daily installs this month".

On Team/Enterprise plans an Owner adds the connector once under Organization settings > Connectors; each member then clicks Connect and approves with their own account.

3. Connect from Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http adstage https://api.adstage.app/mcp

Run /mcp in a session to sign in; a browser window opens. Choose the organization, approve, and the tools become available.

4. Connect from ChatGPT

  1. Under Settings > Connectors > Advanced, enable Developer mode.
  2. Click Create, enter the server URL and choose OAuth as the authentication method.
  3. Click connect: the AdStage sign-in, organization selection and approval screens open.

5. Available tools

ToolPurpose
query_attribution_reportSpend, impressions, clicks, installs, conversions, revenue and ROAS grouped by date / channel / campaign / platform …
list_report_fieldsAvailable metrics, dimensions and filters
run_saved_report / list_saved_reportsRun reports saved in the dashboard
get_event_name_histogram / list_event_catalogEvent names and counts being collected

list_funnels / get_funnel_reportFunnel definitions and step conversion
query_retention_reportCohort retention
list_ad_platform_integrationsConnected ad platforms
get_connection_infoConnected organization, currency, timezone and today's date

How to read the numbers: money is in the organization base currency; roas_*, ctr and cvr_* are percentages (x100); conversion_value_total includes organic revenue while roas_total uses paid-attributed revenue. Date presets end yesterday by default because today's data is still being collected.

6. Switching organizations · disconnecting

Disconnect your connection under Settings > AI Assistants, then click Connect again in your AI client and choose another organization. Organization OWNERs/ADMINs can see and disconnect every member's connection on the Organization connections tab.
